Mike Gilroy

CEO

Mike has over twenty years of experience growing specialty finance businesses by working closely with channel partners.

Mike’s involvement with solar began as an investor and board observer for Sungage starting in 2015. Until recently, Mike was also the CEO of Springstone Financial, a healthcare financing business he co-founded in 2006, that was acquired by LendingClub in 2014. Springstone partnered with over 20,000 medical and dental practices to provide affordable payment options for amounts up to $50,000. Prior to Springstone, Mike led the scale up of AmeriFee, a patient financing business that was acquired by Capital One in 2001. Earlier in his career, he held sales, marketing and business development positions at Corning, Inc and Dentsply Intl. Mike is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.

Sara Ross

Co-Founder

Sara founded Sungage Financial following her own experience purchasing solar.

After acting as the general contractor for an award-winning deep energy retrofit of her own home, she started a business to help solar contractors meet the needs of residential consumers. Sara was a speaker at the 2012 Building Energy Conference, and is a member of the New England Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA), Solar Connecticut and the Renewable and Energy Efficiency Business Association (REEBA). Sara has worked previously for the City of New York, the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard University, USAID, and Abt Associates performing policy and economic analysis. Sara holds an MPA/ID from the Harvard Kennedy School.

Jim Donovan

COO

Jim Donovan, COO, is a fintech entrepreneur with extensive experience in managing operations, risk and working with bank partners.

Jim was a co-founder of Springstone Financial, Premier Payment Solutions and AmeriFee in addition to credit positions held at Capital One and LendingClub. He has had a successful career working in operations and finance for the past 25 years. Jim holds a Master’s degree from Boston College.

Michael Giles

Chief Technology Officer & Chief Product Officer

Mike is a serial entrepreneur who has focused on conceptualizing, creating and delivering successful software products for the past 20 years.

Those products have ranged from enterprise content management, business process automation and cloud-based, mobile communications to consumer social bookmarking and travel meta-search. In addition to founding several companies, most recently Otalo and Furl (sold to LookSmart in 2004), Mike has advised start-ups, helped grow Vitria from an early start-up to a multibillion dollar public company and raised four children. Mike holds a BA in Physics from Oberlin College.

Evan McDaniel

Director of Software Development

Evan has been leading software development teams for the past 20 years, with a focus on creating the structure and processes that allow for the efficient creation of complex web-based software systems.

As a marketing technologist, Evan has lead teams that delivered web applications for Fortune 100 companies including Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, and IBM. Some of the projects Evan has led include web-based e-learning management systems for HP, Honda, and Toyota Financial Systems, and mobile sales enablement tools for Fidelity National Information Services (FIS).

Megan Lucier

Director of Marketing

Megan brings 25 plus years of brand management and strategic marketing experience to the team.

Her career started in advertising but she honed her marketing skills in corporate marketing settings including Staples, TJX, Timberland and Lending Club. Megan is happiest when she is directing and motivating teams that deliver winning marketing campaigns.  She is a graduate of Colgate University and has served on her local Conservation Commission for years.

Doug Pierce

Director of Field Sales

Doug brings 15 years of experience in renewable energy along with a strong focus on building partner relationships and developing new markets.

Doug has deep experience in solar and is intimately familiar with our channel partners’ perspective having served as vice president then president at RevoluSun, a long-term Sungage installer partner. Doug has managed Sungage Financial key accounts in Illinois, Texas, and the Mid-Atlantic region since 2018. Leading the field sales team operating in 25 states, Doug leverages his in-depth understanding of the residential solar industry to consistently deliver customer success through exceptional service.

Matthew Thomsen

Director of Inside Sales

Matt came to Sungage from Accenture, where he spent many years growing and building sales teams to deliver industry leading management and technology consulting products.

He has a passion for the solar industry that he developed while working with SolBid, a solar engineering and procurement software company. Earlier in his career, Matt worked at Appneta, and also spent many years in the hospitality space. Matt has a proven track record of building and growing sales organizations in constantly changing industries.

Meaghen Walsh

Director of Human Resources

Meaghen cares for the company’s most precious asset: our people. Directing the recruiting, hiring, development, and training of our team, Meaghen’s focus is always on forward momentum.

Meaghen is adept at development and works across the organization to help team leaders and their members realize their individual aspirations. She is instrumental in implementation of the Sungage University program that enables every staff member to explore extensive career path options. Meaghen also oversees the company’s administrative infrastructure from industry-leading benefits to facilities to accounting and investor relations and still manages to be available for individual Sungager’s needs — always with unconditional friendliness.
